Day 12 - October 11, 2008 - Part 3

Ok, final post of today.

I don't know if I've made it clear enough - the last 48 hours have been absolutely as fantastic as we could ask for. The report of no infection in EITHER leg after surgery today, the fact that she's off the ventilator and talking with us, the fact that the infection from Thursday was a localized infection, the fact that Mom is "Mom" and talking to us - I just can't express how wonderful the last 48 hours have been! She still can't have Dr. Pepper, but they're saying most likely on Monday. She'll be a drinking fool!!! Praise the Lord for answers to so many prayers.

One update I forgot to include in the earlier post from surgery is that they looked at the skin on top of her left foot. While it hasn't gotten any better, it also hasn't gotten any worse. So, that's also reasonably good news.

Again, for anyone planning to come by on Sunday, please follow the signs to the ICU East waiting room (also called Critical Care Waiting Room). Either Dad or I will be there - given how awake she is, they're being real sticklers for keeping the traffic relatively low to her room (and only 2 of us at a time). We don't want to offend anyone, but we will probably not have many people heading back to her room - Hopefully we'll get her in her own room soon, and then none of this will be an issue!! We look forward to seeing all of you soon (tomorrow or later!).

Thank you so much for your prayers. Thursday was a really hard day for us, but it looks as though Thursday wasn't as bad as it seemed at the time. God is truly answering prayers, from keeping the infections mostly at bay to giving us peace through all of this. In case you can't tell from the tone of my posts, I'm absolutely elated after the last 2 days. It was pretty cool on Friday - it felt like it was just Mom and I hanging out. Really great day!! Today has been every bit as good, but today it was good medically, not just emotionally!!!

THANK YOU FOR ALL THE PRAYERS!!!

What a great way to end my long day. Thanks for giving me an even better reason to rest in the Lord's presence tonight.

Patty, we miss you so much. I can't wait to hear reports of you giving the nurses and doctors a hard time all the way down the hall. If you can't be at school scolding those kids, you can do it right there at the hospital! CBA isn't the same without you...We love you TONS and can't wait to hear you down the hall again soon!

God does show us Miracles...when we trust in him. We will be sure to include the skin in our prayers. Thanks for these updates! Another day forward!!!
