Day 10 - October 9, 2008

So, they took her to surgery around 2:30 p.m. We talked to the docs, and they may or may not do the plastic surgery today. Also, depending on what they find with the tibia, they may or may not repair it (depending on whether it is "ready" to be repaired). So, the short version is that we have no idea what exactly they are doing in surgery and how long she may be there. The longer she is there, the better today. If they are able to do the plastic surgery, it could take as long as 8 hours. If they aren't able to repair the tibia, they could be finished in a couple of hours. I'll definitely keep you posted, but this is a big one - we need them to be able to repair everything and for this to be the last surgery for awhile. Mom REALLY wants off the vent, and we're really hoping she can get off and stay off the vent after this surgery.

More later...

We pray that it is a long successful surgery! I also pray everything gets done...so she can get off the vent.

My friedn Mary (Canada) We are continuing to stand in faith with you all, for total recovery. That the surgeons hand is accurate and precise, not missing anything, that he is led supernaturally by the Holy Spirit in every instance. She is healed, healthy and strong, according to Isaiah 53:5 that by the stripes of Jesus Patty is healed. She will have a quick recovery. That peace rules and reigns in that place. Amen!

Peace upon you too Rebecca. Patty’s in Gods’ hands and he’s watching over her.

Thanks so much for the blog. It is wonderful to be able to know exactly what to pray for. I check it 2 or 3 times daily. The thing that is most wonderful about your Mom is her beautiful smile. Her smile just lights up the room! I have always noticed she seemed to always have a smile no matter what. Please tell her Leon and I are praying for her and your family. I will come see her next week. Again, thanks for the informative blog. Love ya, Linda Lapel

Hello to Patty and the family:

Keith & I want you to know that we've been praying for you and your family. We are especially praying for no signs of infection, that you will be able to get off the ventilator okay and for complete healing. Our powerful and awesome God is a healing God and is with you every step of the way. Patty, you are a very strong person. Keep positive and don't allow yourself to think differently. Our whole family has been praying for you, Austin & Deidra in Montana, Nate & Kimbra in Kansas City and Nic & Tarina in OKC. Plus all my co-workers at work. They have even shared this with their prayer chains at their church and so many people are praying for you. Thank you for the daily updates on what is happening and how we can pray. We read it every day.

Keith & Rosemary Nikkel
