Day 24 - October 23, 2008 - Post Surgery

PRAISE THE LORD!

Surgery went very well, and she doesn't have to wear a brace!!!!! The doc was very pleased with the surgery, and expects her to have a full recovery. They'll obviously keep an eye on things over the coming 6-8 weeks, but she's on the road to recovery!

On an interesting side note, the doc that performed the surgery has actually been to Corn and knows all about the school! He was very good with us, and we liked him a lot. It has been very interesting to us through this ordeal how small a world it really is.

Thanks for your prayers - this is another big victory!!

Wraps come off the muscle / skin grafts tomorrow. We're praying for good news there, as well!

PTL! We prayed together for Patty at chapel time. For wisdom for the docs, for a good outcome (I prayed for as little fusing as possible) and no brace. I was kind of late getting to chapel cuz I had just checked the blog and printed the update. Your mom can appreciate this: Mark was going through announcements etc and looked at me as I walked in ... then he got this other look (like- what now) as I didn't stop at my seat and just kept walking up the aisle to the front to hand him the prayer request paper. (The what's this and why do I have to do now?)I was a bit out of character for chapel, but he did just fine. :) I appreciate having chapel time to pray together. I'm praying you all have wonderful rest tonight.
It's cool to have this blog as a continuous document of God's answers to prayer. I'm a little curious now about towmorrow and what God has in store.

Thank God for the good news. Will be praying that unwrapping the legs tomorrow will be easy. Prayer is truly wonderful. See you this weekend.

I get goose bumps when I read the progress on here each day. I know God is with her, seeing her and the family through this. With God we get to see miracles. I will add the muscle/skin grafts to my prayers. Have a restful night. Thanks for these updates and letting us be a part of this.
