Day 7 - October 6, 2008

Just a really quick update. Mom went to surgery about an hour ago (about 2:30). They're working on the left tibia, and will thoroughly clean the right tibia as well. They said it could be 3 - 6 hours before they are done.

Before they took her back, she was much more responsive. She's trying to mouth things to us (and she gets very frustrated when we don't understand), squeezing our hands, moving her toes. All really good signs. I figure she'll be pretty sleepy tonight and most of tomorrow. I don't know when the next surgery will be.

I'll let you know when she's out of surgery!

Add First Baptist Church in Key Largo, Florida to those praying for you, too!! Keith and I have been so thankful for the blessings thus far, and we really appreciate the blog and those at CBA keeping us informed. We love you. I know the road ahead is long, and may be the toughest you've ever traveled, but remember that you have the Great Physician, and many, many prayer warriors behind you all the way!! God bless and keep you.
Love,
Sharon and Keith Cox

Patty
And Family
We pray for all of you every day. I am so grateful that there is hope and healing in Jesus. We are standing with you and waiting to see how God will turn this difficult situation into good. We have friends in Strattford, in Cheyenne WY, and Germany praying for you. They ask every few days how things are going. Praise God the news is good.

I have been trying to keep up with your mom's progress. Phil and I just returned from New Mexico; we had been in Las Cruses for a week. I appreciate your blog so much!! Your mom is a very special lady, and we have been praying for her and for your family. My brother and his wife from Tucumcari, NM and their daughter and her husband in Paris, Texas are praying for you now. Today I let Kari know about it. She hadn't heard about it. So the people in her office in OKC will pray for your family.

We will continue to pray and follow your blog...We are praying for a miracle for her and for the young people who were injured.

With love and prayers,

Melva Snider

Patty,
Just wanted to let you know that we are praying for you, and are confident that God is doing a good work in you. We serve such a big God and I am so thankful to read about your progress everyday. It is so neat to see the progress you are making. We will continue to pray each day as you recover. Take care and know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Hi Kenny & Patty.....Here is a great verse to hold you this week....
Psalm 27:14.....Wait for the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord. As soon as Amanda Wedel called me on the accident I called the prayer partners in the Joy S.S. Class & we are continuing to pray every a.m. @ 7:00 for Patty's conplete healing....we thank God for sparing her life.
Both of you have been very special to Amanda & have left your mark on her life....May God bless you both in months to come & God be the glory thru this hard time...Thanks for the Website & it shows us how to continue to pray....
I am the Grandma who is raising Amanda....
love & prayers,
Betty Wedel

My name is Denene Neufeld-Harper and I heard about the tragic accident and letting you know I am praying for your mom. I am also letting you know that my sister Nelda Neufeld-Criswell in Richardson, Texas and her huge church of at least a 1000 or more are also praying for your mom as well others they know down there. I also shared with my mother in law in Allen, Oklahoma what happened and she is sharing with her church and her co-workers at East Central University in Ada. The Girls Home where I lived and worked the summer before my Senior Year at CBA in Hutchinson Kansas is praying for you as well. I believe prayer works and miracles happen and I am truely believing that prayer and miracles happen with your mother. I don't know her well but did meet her a few times at CBA Activities and think highly of her.
