Day 9 - October 8, 2008

Well, I had this post all written and ready to post, then the docs called. So, I'm starting over.

The ventilator isn't coming out today, but that's good news - She's going to surgery today around 1pm. They are going to work on the right tibia. The plan is to put a plate on the inside of her leg to support the tibia, and wrap the bone with some material to assist in fusing those multiple pieces of bone back together. The plastic surgeons are going to be in surgery with them, and they may or may not do the plastic surgery while they are in the operating room today. So, more progress. They had a slot come open on the schedule today, so we're going in today!!

Please pray for peace for her - she's been pretty apprehensive at times. The medicine she's on makes her very foggy, and she doesn't entirely understand everything going on around her. She was pretty upset last night, and Dad said "Let's pray." As he prayed, I watched her blood pressure subside dramatically. So, that's the newest prayer request we have.

Aaron's dad is sitting here with us, and it sounds as though he'll be moving to rehab today, as well. He's adjusting to the fact that his jaw is wired shut - but still doing pretty well! Paul went to rehab yesterday. Our ability to keep up with them will be a lot more difficult now that they're moving to a different facility... sounds like they're doing good, though!

I'll let you know as soon as we get word when she's out of surgery!

I am praying that all goes well and she is at piece when she wakes up. I'm also praying for a speedy recover for the boys. Maybe Aaron will be ready to eat Thanksgiving dinner without it being a shake.
Prying and watching the clock here. Thanks Alana...I'm praying God has a hold of your hand too.
