Day 32 - October 31, 2008

Ok - so I've officially skipped a day on the blog. Now that she's in rehab, there's not as much new news to report every day. We do have some today, though!

We've stopped her respiratory therapy for now. She's got a really dry cough, so they're trying to get rid of that.

They finally took out all the sutures. She still has staples in various places, but all the sutures are removed. She says it all kind of feels like she's been in a cat fight. I can only imagine!!

She's getting more and more mobile all the time. I know there's only so much you can do when you can't really move your legs much, but she's working on doing as much of that as possible!

She finally got to see Aaron today for the first time since the accident. He was in OKC for a check-up, and his dad took him by to see Mom. She really enjoyed that! She seems to really enjoy the visits from all of you who come by - I think she is also very humbled by how much people care about her. Thanks for letting her know how much she is appreciated!

That's all for now. I probably won't post over the weekend unless there is some major breaking news. She won't do much therapy, so she'll just get to enjoy visitors and get some rest.

More later!

What I want to know, is how does Mrs. Schimmer know what it feels like to be in a cat fight?!?
Is there some past history here that we should be made aware of?

Love you, and we're still praying for you.

Hi Patty! The seniors did a great job yesterday on the matinee, I'm looking forward to seeing it again tonight! (I hope you will get to see it on video.) We will miss you so much today-I've been getting ready for the cast party and thinking of you the whole time. The kids are coming to our house after the play and we're serving them hot dogs and chili, nachos, a fruit tray, and brownies. (That way if there's leftovers, we can freeze them for the concession stand later.) I hope Kenny gave you the lowdown on the game last night-it was a humdinger! Hugs to you!

No news is sometimes good news. I will always have you in my prayers.
Here is a little funny...
Emmy came to pick up Jayden today.
She drew Emmy a picture with hearts and all red stuff, gave it to her..Emmy ask, "what is it"? She said, "it is OU".
Emmy ask her to draw her OSU, but she said, "No". We kept trying to get her to draw OSU. She took a piece of paper and marked X's all through the paper, gave it to Emmy. We kept trying...Well, she took the same paper and wrote, "I do not like OSU"...Lol. 4 years old and writing sentences..It was soo funny.
